SHORELINE

The Sculptural Seating element is a deep-black curved granite stonework embracing the north side of the place. The black granite, with the symbolism of solidity and gravity, has Malmö’s ever-expanding shoreline engraved on its surface, telling the story of the transformative potential of the city’s boundaries. Not far from this seating element, with its rise and fall and in contrast to the dark stone, is the play of the water fountain.
